I have approximately one zillion adorable photos of my cute little smoosher(s), how do I pick the best one for a drawing?

I know the struggle. . . I have 29,834 photos of my kids on my phone, and counting. (REALLY.)

Here are a few tips:

• If you can't decide, I am happy to take a look at a few of your favourite photos and advise which one would make the best drawing.

• Big toothy smiles can sometimes look awkward in this minimalist drawing style - I gravitate towards closed mouths where possible.

• Closeups are best - I need good details to create a likeness since these drawings have such minimal linework.

HOT TIP: It can be nice to forego the classic "sitting for a portrait" pose in favour of more of a "captured moment” feeling. Photos where the subjects are not looking straight to camera make for lovely compositions -- I also love the “cameo” pose, side-profile-style.

Gift wrap! Nice! But how do I know it will look great?

Check my Instagram page for some examples of the quality wrapping job you can expect. There’s nothing like a beautiful wrapping job to show your recipient how much you care. And, if you really want to know, I happen to have been the delegated wrapper of my family from childhood onward. Pretty big honour, right? (oh. . . maybe everyone else just hates wrapping?!)

Seriously though: beautiful wrapping ensures the lucky recipient of this drawing will feel the love. Your drawing will be wrapped in custom tissue and sealed with a pretty ribbon and Minimees sticker -- for a super special gift-opening experience. Kleenex not included.

As an added bonus, you can feel good knowing that your gift wrap has an eco-friendly seal of approval.

Free shipping - really?

How long will my order take?

In general, I need 1-2 days to complete your portrait once we have agreed upon a photo reference.

Depending on volume of orders, I need up to a week lead time.

If you need your drawing earlier, just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate. If I don't think it is possible I will let you know at the time of ordering.

Order early to avoid disappointment!
